Justice and Pity

I saw a woman, beautiful but blind,
Lying upon the ground in pools of blood
And asked her name. My name, she said, is Justice.
And who has given you these cruel wounds, That thus your very lifeblood drains away?
Her name is Pity, Justice said, and died.
